To change the properties of a chart in MetaTrader 4, follow one of these steps:<\/p>

1. Using the Charts menu:<\/strong><\/p>

Go to the \u201cCharts\u201d<\/strong> menu.
Select the \u201cProperties\u201d<\/strong> button from the drop-down list.<\/p>

Right-click on the chart.<\/p>

Choose the \u201cProperties\u201d<\/strong> button from the drop-down list.<\/p>

3. Shortcut Method:<\/strong><\/p>

Press < F8 > for the fastest way to open the \u201cProperties\u201d<\/strong> window.
In the \u201cProperties\u201d<\/strong> window, you will find two tabs: \u201cColors\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cCommon\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>

Colors Tab<\/h2>

This menu allows you to change the settings of the chart using the following commands:<\/p>

Background:<\/strong> Change the background color.<\/p>

Foreground:<\/strong> Change the foreground color and the color properties of objects in the foreground.<\/p>

Grid:<\/strong> Change the color of the grid.<\/p>

Bar Up:<\/strong> Color of bar charts for bullish bars.<\/p>

Bar Down:<\/strong> Color of bar charts for bearish bars.<\/p>

Bull Candle:<\/strong> Color of candlestick charts for bullish candles.<\/p>

Bear Candle:<\/strong> Color of candlestick charts for bearish candles.<\/p>

Line Graph:<\/strong> Color of the line chart.<\/p>

Volumes:<\/strong> color of volumes.<\/p>

Ask Line:<\/strong> The color of the ask line.<\/p>

Stop Levels:<\/strong> The color of the stop level line.<\/p>

This tab contains common chart settings for MetaTrader 4 charts:

Bar Chart:<\/strong> Displays the chart as a bar chart.<\/p>

Candlesticks:<\/strong> Displays the chart as candlestick charts.<\/p>

Line Chart:<\/strong> Displays the chart as a line graph. It also shows the pening, maximum, minimum, and closing prices of the current candle in the upper-left corner.<\/p>

Show Ask Line:<\/strong> Displays the ask price line.<\/p>

Show Period Separators:<\/strong> Displays a vertical line at the start of each day.<\/p>

Show Grid:<\/strong> Displays the grid on the screen.<\/p>
